Product Information:
Growing up, my family had a humidifier and I remember whenever anyone in our home got sick, my mom would fill it with water and sometimes put eucalyptus oil in it. Humidifiers are machines that release water vapor or steam and increase the amount of moisture in the air; also known as humidity. There are various types of humidifiers and they are: central humidifiers, ultrasonic humidifiers, impeller humidifiers, evaporators, and steam vaporizers also called warm mist humidifiers.
Features You’ll Love:
Humidifiers can be used at any time of the year, but are especially useful when the air is (more) dry; typically during the winter season. They can reduce unpleasant symptoms as a result of dry air, such as dry skin, dry eyes, and other irritations such as reducing nosebleeds related to dry sinuses. As previously mentioned, humidifiers increase the moisture in the air of the home which can alleviate any congestion that you may be experiencing, helping you to breathe more easily and have a more restful sleep. In addition, they can help to lessen allergy symptoms. However, it is important to take care of your humidifier in order to avoid potential issues because if it isn’t cleaned on a consistent basis, mold can grow in it and get carried into the air, which could make your allergies worse. It is best to read the instructions from the manufacturer before you use it to learn how to properly maintain your humidifier. Another advantage of a humidifier is that they’re portable, making them convenient to carry from room-to-room for ease of use.
According to WebMD, humidifiers also:
Price: Prices for humidifiers vary depending on where you purchase them, its features, and whether or not they’re on sale. I remember when I was looking for a humidifier for our home, they had some cute animal shaped ones, but I also noticed that the prices were significantly higher. While I was attracted to the cuteness of it, I opted for a humidifier that was less aesthetic and more functional because regardless of the age of my children or who needed to use it (i.e., my husband or I), the humidifier would not be (aesthetically) age specific. At this point, we will continue to use our humidifier until we are no longer able to. Conversely, if you’re willing to pay more money for the aesthetics, by all means, go for it!
Final Verdict: I firmly believe that every family needs to have a humidifier in their home because of its many benefits. Our family went through our share of sickness not too long ago and I can say that I am grateful that we have one because of the role it played in supporting our recovery. There are a variety of humidifiers on the market so I would suggest choosing one based on the unique needs of your family. Using the information in this review is a good place to start. In addition, I encourage you to speak to other moms and those you trust for their insight. Read reviews online to determine the best one for your family and home.
